About us
About Merlin K9
A Manchester company that does one thing: security dogs with professional handlers.
Who we are
Dog handling is all we do
Merlin K9 Ltd is a security company based in Manchester. We provide trained security dogs with their handlers for sites that need a stronger presence when they're closed: building sites, yards, warehouses, business premises and empty buildings.
We don't sell guarding, cleaning or cameras. We focus on dog-and-handler security and on doing it properly: a clear plan for every site, dogs that are calm and under control, and reports you can rely on.
When you call us, you speak to the people who plan and run your cover. We visit your site, agree a written plan with you, and stay in touch while the cover runs.
How we work
The way every job runs
Dog and handler as one team
Every dog works with its own handler. They train together, travel together and work together on site.
A plan for every site
Patrol routes, check points, hours and escalation are agreed in a simple written plan before we start.
On lead and under control
On patrol, our dogs work on lead and under the handler's control at all times.
A report after every shift
You get a written report of patrols completed and anything found, every shift.
Why Merlin K9
What makes us different
We keep things simple, specialist and personal.
Dog handling is all we do
We don't sell guarding, cleaning or cameras. Our whole business is security dogs and their handlers.
The same team where we can
We try to keep the same handler on the same site, so they know the layout, the people and what's normal.
Plans written for your site
Every job starts with a site visit and a written plan. No templates, no guesswork.

Our teams
On site, every handler
Works with their own dog
Handler and dog train and work together as one team.
Knows the plan
Briefed on your site, the route, the check points and who to call.
Follows your site rules
Signs in, follows your induction and wears the PPE your site requires.
Records everything
Patrols, checks and anything found go into the shift report.
